Yoga + Brunch is back at Guardswell Farm!
Thank you to everyone who joined us in 2018, we are thrilled to announce our first 2019 get-together.
We (Helen + Anna) invite you to join us for a relaxing Sunday morning of yoga led by Helen and a delicious brunch in the beautiful space at Guardswell. The perfect opportunity to welcome in the spring and start to leave the house again after your winter hibernation!
With the Spring Equinox on the 20th of March (we're a few days late) join us for a calm and collected opportunity to take stock of the seasonal changes and to recenter yourself. Spring opens the doors to a new year of growth- seeds sown, flowers emerging from bulbs, spring birds returning- the earths energy bursting out of the ground. A true celebration of the season.
Helen will start you off with an hour-long Forrest yoga session, stripping back to basics and adding some core conditioning. So whether you’re new to yoga or want to enhance your current practice we have you covered. And for those of you who aren’t quite ready to fully emerge from hibernation just yet, you can coorie into an extra-long savasana.
Beginners are welcomed and encouraged, and for the more advanced yogis there will always be options to deepen any pose. This session is suitable for pregnancy, and if you have any injuries, just let us know before the class.
After your hour of yoga, you’ll have some time to wander and gather your thoughts before we settle in for a delicious brunch from the Guardswell Cart Shed Kitchen. New season herbs and vegetables, and some of the overwintering veg from the kitchen garden will provide perfect post-yoga nourishment. Bowls of fresh fruit salads and yoghurts, as well as homemade Guardswell Granola and bircher museli. A proper sunday treat.
We will have some recommended "spring" routes to take around the farm- during this time, or after Brunch.
- Bring something cosy for relaxation.
- Wear clothing that allows you to move freely and comfortably.
- We have a very limited number of mats so please bring your own.
About Forrest Yoga
Forrest Yoga is a modern yoga style based on Hatha yoga. Created by Ana Forrest, the core principles include connecting breath with movement, strengthening the body, working with mindfulness and integrity and evolving the sense of spirit.
Helen is a certified Forrest Yoga teacher (200hr Yoga Alliance registered)having completed both the foundation and advanced training programmes. Helen teaches weekly classes, private sessions and workshops in Perthshire and Dundee.
Helen also holds a PhD in Anatomy and has worked in the field of Forensic Anatomy and Life Sciences for over 10 years. Inspired by Forrest yoga’sstrong anatomical focus,her teaching encourages safe,spacious, intuitive and therapeutic movement to increase physical and mental acuity.
Forrest Yoga helped Helen to manage her work-life balance as well as develop a long-term strategy to cope with stress and anxiety. Now, as a certified instructor, she uses her unique skillset to benefit those who seek to better understand the intrinsic link between yoga and the human body and those who simply want to discover what yoga can do for them.
