AN INTRODUCTION TO FRESH HERBS WITH GUARDSWELL FARM

Join Anna, from Guardswell Farm, for a morning spent immersing ourselves in the scents and tastes of fresh culinary herbs. Learn about the different fresh culinary herbs growing at Guardswell Farm, tasting as we go- and a little about how and where they are best grown. Then head into the Cart Shed Kitchen, with baskets laden, to try our hand at a few fresh herb preservation techniques- from compound butters to pestos. Before cooking up a super herb recipe to enjoy for lunch.

Anna grew up on a herb farm- which isn’t a phrase many can say. Entire fields of coriander, show tunnels full of agretti and lemon verbena, a beautifully scented childhood. Without even realising it, an understanding of how to use herbs when cooking developed- and she now uses handfuls of fresh herbs where-ever possible.

This is a 4 hour workshop, lunch + glass of wine, plus recipes and some edible goodies to take away with you.

After the workshop, you are more than welcome to spend a little time wondering around the farm- whether thats sitting and taking in the view, or taking a hike up to the boat.

We may also have a little accommodation available on the farm- if you’d like to make a weekend of it.
