FIVE FOR THE FARM: TESSA JACKSON- GUARDSWELL HEAD OF HUTS + HOUSES
Tessa Jackson is our spectacular “Head of Huts + Houses” at Guardswell Farm- the essential cog in the wheel, the welcoming wave, the weaver of Guardswell memories for our guests, the catcher of escapee donkeys.
Who, then, is better to ask for their top Guardswell recommendations?
Here are her Five for the Farm.
DISH: Confit chickpea , garlic + tomato with loads of turmeric and ginger to ward off winter bugs, followed by a Sticky Toffee Pud with cream as a treat.
SECRET SPOT: The special smell of The Steading when you are the first one here in the morning or having a quiet moment in the Common Room with our resident thera-pet Pomme.
BOOK: The Garden Awakening by Mary Reynolds. Guardswell has something very special, it’s hard to describe, but many people feel it. This book goes some way to explain the magic.
PLAYLIST: If it’s a Sunday morning I’d tune in to Cerys on Radio 6, or the Archers Omnibus, then shuffle some of my favs - John Grant, Michael Kiwanuka, Khruangbin - may be even a bit of jazz, Kamasi Washington gives epic holiday vibes.
DAYTRIP: A sauna + swim at Eden Springs first thing / Brunch at Eastfield / Afternoon drive to Dunkeld for cake from Aran Bakery followed by fish + chips from the Dunkeld Fish Bar, preferably eaten beside the Loch of the Lowes.
Thank you to Ritchie Williams- @ritchieroams - for the lovely cover photo of Tessa.
