TUBS, EGGS + LOOS WITH VIEWS

Guardswell Farm is going to be 7 this June (where has the time gone?!), and whilst we strive continually to work on making our huts and houses better- this winter has seen some pretty awesome changes.

We’re constantly adding wee bits here and there- but we’ve added some pretty big bits over the last couple of weeks…

All of our Guardswell huts will be home to a Goodland Wood Fired Bath- and holy moly, are they amazing. Late nights under the stars and early mornings with the birdsong. They take about 2 hours to get to temperature, but the process of getting there is all part of the experience. The lighting the fire, tending the fire, stirring the water- it makes it all the sweeter when you finally dip a toe into the cosy waters. As they are filled for each stay- and made out of marine grade aluminium and cedar, they dont need any harsh chemicals- which means you have gorgeous clean water, free of any nasties (perhaps the odd pine needle might drop in whilst you bathe)- and it also means we dont have any horrid pollutants ending up in our soil.

So far- the Pendicle and the Kailyard have their baths installed- with the Infield bath being installed over the next couple of weeks. Due to its location, its slightly more challenging with regards to filtering and UV treating water before it gets to the bath, but we’re chipping away.

What else have we added:

  • Big Green Eggs to all of the Huts + Houses (the Cottage and Infield are being put in over the next couple of weeks)

  • Outdoor Kitchens at all of the Huts + Houses- so you can cook outside all year round

  • The Kailyard has its own loo…with a view! Shuttering and perspex mean you still catch a bit of the awesome view as you sit on the loo.

Whats coming?

  • Farm walks + tours for all of our guests- planned times and places where you can meet us and learn a little bit about what we do on the farm, the livestock that live here and all of our plans.

  • More more more events- markets, kids workshops, film screenings, dinners, farm lunches… we hope to have events going on every week, so you can book in a stay and attend something in the Steading at the same time.

  • We’re looking at an evening bar for guests- like a wee spot to have a drink for a few hours during each stay- so watch this space.

We promise to get photos of everything ASAP…
