THE PENDICLE

Stepping onto the deck of the Pendicle is like stepping onto the edge of the world. Set 2m above the fields, protruding from the hillside- the Pendicle has one of the best views at Guardswell. The sheep graze below, the birds chatter in the apple trees and the hens scratch for worms by your feet. 

Whilst you’re waiting to kick back in the Goodland Hot Tub, heated by wood stove, underneath the oldest apple tree on the farm- why not light the Big Green Egg on the deck and cook some of our own hebridean hogget over the coals.

The Pendicle has been designed and built with sustainability in mind- from the sheep-wool insulation, the locally grown and milled wood cladding to the homemade soap in the bathroom. This space is the perfect retreat for a couple who fancy getting the wood fire roaring, and popping a bottle of Diggers Cider. This Pendicle has two gas hobs to cook on- but you can also the Big Green Egg (bbq/smoker/coal oven) and the wood burning stove inside. Please note that there is no fridge at the hut itself, however, we do provide a cool box with ice blocks.

SOAK IN THE WOOD FIRED BATH, OR CURL UP BY THE FIRE PIT

All of our accommodation at Guardswell Farm is self-catering, however, we occasionally have events on in the Steading (have a look at the EVENTS tab) which involve food!! This Pendicle has two gas hobs to cook on- but you could also cook on the Big Green Egg, the firepit outside and the woodburning stove inside. Please note that as the Pendicle has limited electricity, there is no fridge, however, we do provide a cool box with ice blocks. 

Guardswell is a little escape from the modern, fast-paced world- and as such- we dont have any wifi or televisions (however, we do have 4G if you need to catch up with the world). We hope you enjoy the conversations, the board games and the silence.

  • Check-In/Out Days- Monday (2 night), Wednesday (2 night) and Friday (3 night).

    Check-in times from 4pm-8pm

    Check-out by 11am

  • All of our properties at Guardswell Farm are self catering- however, we do sell some of our own produce, and some local produce, in our Provisions Store.

    We do occassionally host pop up dinners- so take a look at our event page.

    As of 2024, all bookings will have the option to add a breakfast basket onto their stay. This can be added at the point of booking.

    Our Guardswell Breakfast Baskets will be delivered on your day of arrival, and include a little selection to last your stay. They contain everything we love in a breakfast- simple, homemade and slow-paced. Sourdough and homemade preserves, Guardswell granola, eggs from our hens, beautiful ground coffee, Diggers Apple Juice Scottish yoghurt and a jar of homemade compote. You are welcome to explore the farm with your breakfast- why not enjoy it in the boat or the glasshouse.
